She would have to virtually commit to the show and all guidelines or risk forfeiting receiving all of that loot.  She would also have to keep a squeaky clean image to avoid being fired. Her addition to the show is expected to double ratings of the sister spin off of American Idol which despite popularity failed to produce the ratings of American Idol. It will be interesting to see  how Britney delivers her criticism of artists. You wonder if she will be a pushover or very severe in her judgement of performances.  Howard Stern recently referred to Britney as a ‘train wreck’ so it will be surprising to see if she disapproves rumors and speculation on America’s pop princess who has been under the radar since being a Mouseketeer.

Nicki  Minaj debuted a nasal remix version of  her hit, Moment for Life  which sounds larger than life the second go round in new Pepsi Commercial, and reminds us all why Pepsi sought Hip Hop’s reigning queen,  now donning a blonde wig and punk rock pink lipstick, some say is a look  designed just in time to lure a new generation of “Barbie Pepsi‘drinkers, but not so fast.

The singer/ rapper appears almost at the end of the commercial as a guy a girl’s “BEST MOMENT IN LIFE “ after traveling through several freeze frames before winding up at a Nicki Minaj’s concert . It all leaves  people to wonder why is the singer’s number one hit good enough to premiere throughout the entire commercial while a split second only is devoted to her appearance and during that ‘MOMENT” she doesn’t even look black. Why in fact, Nicki Minaj looks like a Barbie Doll.

However, when she looks closer to her natural look all of the “Stupid H” as Nicki Minaj calls her haters only  complain, so if this look and self bafoonery can downplay her extreme beauty and win over acceptance from a sector of society ‘Barbz’  who run out and support her music then Nicki is going to play her cards right and let the world laugh while she gets paid a reported 2.5 million for the cameo making up for her lack luster sophomore album sales! I think the commercial is off the meter! If you don’t like Nicki Minaj work by now then something is wrong with ya. This star isn’t born, this star has arrived.

You can expect a follow up Pepsi commericial with her current hit, ‘Starships.” 

Here is a message from Michael Baisden requesting  his fans to sign the WBLS petition to put his show on their Marconi Award winning Station which is home of Steve Harvey and former Wendy Williams., all  top media personalities who have been nothing but kind and supportive of my Disilgold Magazine publication since day one and look where they all are, at the top despite so many setbacks and downturns in their careers. Angels rise with angels. It’s my slogan I truly believe. Just to share why I think these media figures are so phenomenal….

Wendy Williams attended nearly every event I have promoted, was very personable and sweet and even gave me my first celebrity interview for my own nationally syndicated television show on the former Black family channel. The respect, seriousness and well thought out responses she gave to each question was phenomenal. I do have the interview, but I senses discomfort with one question and will one day edit that part out in all respect.

A Literary Diva knows her Literary Divas. It was a great interview. I was a little over zealous and had a case of 8 octave voice, but have developed my interview techniques since then or let’s say matured. She reached out to me to come on her show, but I was morally petrified and backed out.

Steve Harvery invited Disilgold magazine to his  WBLS radio show debut premiere party everyone thought would fail, but resoundingly succeeded.

I was further shocked to see our Disilgold SOUL Magazine banner on 2 twenty five foot banners alongside Steve Harvey’s own Gospel Comedy fest as a business spotlight. Michael Baisden actually came out to my first  Disilgold SOUL Magazine YOUnity Guild of America Awards Show to help me get furniture for the Emma C. Brisbane youth program. HE had already sold millions of books.

Thousands came out during the day and he gave a seminar, signed copies of his DVDs and books alongside other top publishing company artists and guests Then I heard he shouted out my mag on his radio show the day after the Harlem Book Fair to his millions of listeners.

The biggest surprise was when WBLS put my magazine on the map by putting my banner on their site at the top. Talk about being highly favored by the NUMBER ONE MEDIA  FIGURES WORLDWIDE, but I do know I have always had angels looking out for me who know my work ethic, and I also know these media figures work ethic.

On many occasions I have used my alter egos to punk  at these media personalities on Twitter who are so big now I know I will  probably  never hear from them on a personal level ever again or see them face to face with an event that affords me to be in their presence. I’m a teacher, not a celebrity. These are not my personal media friends and something I want to make clear to my readers, but people whose paths The Literary Diva happened to cross in a moment of time and reflect on for all its worth to give favor back to those who have paved the way for others to succeed.

Being in the light of these media celebrities drew attention to myself I wasn’t prepared for and that’s why I changed my author pen names several times and several still undisclosed. You have to be really strong to be a media figure,but I don’t mind being a vicarious voice of the people when they head down the wrong lane as one of my media alter egos and just remind these stars I am still standing and so don’t forget about me because you never know when you’ll need the little angels as I call myself because I do try to make my voice be heard with a political standpoint when necessary. I actually missed church to complete these article.

We cannot let even one of these voices of the African American leaders go silent at one of the most critical periods in American history where an African American president is running for a second term for all people as opposed to a candidate only for the rich. I received this in my inbox early this morning, so doing my part to reach out to our readers. Please pass on the information and let your voice be heard.

After I received the devastating news on Thursday that 98.7 Kiss FM in New York was taking my show off and going to an all-sports format, I thought to myself: who is going to sound the alarm in New York when the next Jena 6 happens–or Trayvon Martin–or Presidential election? And who’s going to promote mentoring to save our children, and talk about domestic violence, and child molestation? When you come up with a radio personality’s name who can be trusted to consistently and passionately address these issues on mainstream FM radio, please let me know.

I don’t know about you, but I think we’re going down a dangerous path as African Americans, and as Americans in general, when we allow our voices to be silenced on FM radio while personalities like Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, and others continue to spew racist, divisive, and sexist language over hundreds of radio stations across the country. The public cannot be expected to act if they don’t know there is an emergency, they cannot march if they don’t know whose rights have been violated, and they cannot fight if they have been put to sleep by buffoonery and the repetitive recycling of what is often bad music.

Now, let me be clear, I have no problem with a radio station turning a profit; this is the advertising business after all. Our sponsors buy commercial time based on the ratings, but The Michael Baisden Show was the highest-rated afternoon urban adult program in New York at the time of this change. That’s a fact! And the show has been competitive in every book…or winning its time slot ever since I arrived at the station in 2003. How then do you explain every other show being moved to WBLS except this one? Is it personal or is there something more disturbing going on, a conscious effort to dumb down and silence any voice that uplifts and informs “The People?”

I have no desire to be the sore loser in this. If people prefer one programming to another, then you accept the outcome and keep it moving. But in these times of Republican policies that rob us of our voting rights and the legal system that is locking up more people of color than ever before, we cannot afford to have jokes and slow jams be at the center of our information outlets. Isn’t it funny that during one of the most critical times in our nation’s history, there are fewer African-American AM and FM shows giving information than ever before? What’s really going on, and more importantly, what can we do about it? Well, believe it or not, “The People” do have the power!

Meagan manages to keep her skin glowing and you can hint that she uses a great cleanser, toner, moisturizer, uv sun block, minimal non-comodogenic make-up  barely there and minimal accessories.

Her easy flip to the side is so Marilyn Monroish and ond one of my fav weekend styles I now rock on week days since Meagan has made the side swept flip curl so glamorous. She’s truly the first to do it and certainly doesn’t have to regret ever chopping off her trademark lockes. I am not sure which moisturizer Meagan Good uses, but lately I have been impressed with CVS Body oil which can give Neutrogeana a run for its money. It’s light, economical, comes in a super sized bottle , slathers on light and you can use it all over. It even makes your face glow with the Meagan Good look without looking greasy. You just know your skin is in good hands and you feel great all day.

Meagan Good also, has some serious eye game and my ex-hairdresser enlightened me about permanent eyebrows which is a tattoo tool that permanently fills in sparse eyebrows, but you will need to check licensing and of course, this look is pretty permanent. If this is too dramatic for you then op to shave off your eyebrows and use an eyeliner pencil for shape, but warning, some women eyebrows never grow back after this process. I suggest plucking a few strays and using an eyebrow pencil. Practice makes perfect so op to have your fav makeup counter give you a free lesson and please tell them the Literary Diva sent you to also, buy some products. Meagan Good can do no wrong as long as she is repping for her brown sisters and I am so motivated to try this side bang flip in contrast to my flat bangs. How about you? Wherever they go the two are often mentioned synonymously bringing severe inward anger  and regret to both as evidenced from Rihanna and Chris Brown  rants on Twitter, so what a better way to rekindle friendship and let bygones be bygones by forgiving one another after one of the most heartbreaking and darkest  moments in both artists careers than by making up? However, Chris Brown and Rihanna’s efforts to turn the pages of a new chapter have been met with overt criticism by media and opportunists looking to openly chastise Rihanna and Chris Brown to bring light to themselves.

It became clear that Chris Brown’s performance at the Grammys was distracted and  now it becomes evident he had a heckler in the crowd by the name of Melissa Lambert, and who happens to be a country singer with an album landing this week. When Chris Brown became aware of the singer’s rants via The Grammys and then on Twitter,  the singer returned to his own negative rants after months of refusing to give interviews to media. Her goal was to show that Chris Brown hasn’t changed and once a domestic abuse perpetrator always a perpetrator even though hes been in a committed relationship with Karuche Chan and reportedly living with the pint sized  model.

Nto only did Chris Brown show up to Rihanna’s soiree for her 24th B-Day Bash where guests were sworn to confidentiality, but many on the guest list slipped and revealed a whole lot without being specific, but the two have recorded a new version of Birthday Cake off of Rihanna’s new  album.

It’s a smart move and both will live healthier, be happier and be able to move on to more success. Rihanna and Chris Brown careers actually catapulted after their domestic abuse incident and both are the two of the biggest artists in Black entertainment. How strange and surreal, but Rihanna’s B-Day arrives February 20th with release of Birthday Cake, thus saving Chris Brown from what is appearing to be a massive petition against Chris Brown over winning a Grammy and getting to perform twice by the country community.

If Rihanna isn’t worried about Chris Brown  past then nobody on the face of the earth should worry. Chris Brown and Rihanna’s relationship issues won’t be the first or last domestic abuse incident and no one says that life  ends after an incident. If this was the case every relationship in America would end. Counselors would not be needed. Part of success is growth and reconciliation or there is no happiness. Doesn’t Melissa Lambert want Rihanna to be happy or does she wish for the singer to lose control. Maybe she would be satisfied if Chris Brown drop dead and fall off the face of the earth. Why anger the entire African American community for Rihanna and Chris Brown who might have bought her record until she stole Chris Brown’s happy moment for the first time in years. I understand her message, but it doesn’t seem sincere. Why hurt a man more for making a mistake he can’t take back.

Spring is around the corner and it’s all about reenergizing hair color, shine, volume and style. Christina Milian lights up the room everywhere she goes with subtle highlights all the rage and you can get with a trip to your beauty salon and a picture of the exact hair color combination you are going for. Send your hairstylist to Literary Divas Magazine to get the look. I don’t suggest stripping sections of your hair with Clairol 40 and adding a color rinse unless you are a professional who knows what you are doing. Excessive stripping of color can cause instant breakage.

If you have already experienced hair breakage due to over processing your hair not to worry. Hair is an extension of the soul, but doesn’t make you beautiful. It’s your over all persona with or without locks. Understand that you aren’t the first person to experience hair breakage and nor the last. You may be able to save your hair by deep conditioning it at least 3 times a week, massaging it with root oils, laying low on heat appliances, opting for a hair color rinses that are less harsher than permanent dyes and of course, nourishing your hair by taking vitamins internally and getting plenty of sleep. It will grow back as before within a year . Use light heat with an electric pressing comb on new growth only so it catches with your longer hair and blends in.

If all fails you may have to cut off all of your locks and start all over. Deep condition your hair and get out the gels and scarf to maintain some kind of style unless you like your natural growth as is in an afro and nicely shaped. You can even do light twists to get the hair growth flowing and take the twists out weekly to restyle so hair does not lock. GET THE LOOK DIVA.

Okay, maybe a bit far fetched from the Kim K everyone knows and believes toys and manipulates the media to keep getting ahead, no one can be mad at Kim K for looking to God on a Sunday and stating on Twitter she wishes to attend a Bible Study group with her girls.  Hopefully, this isn’t a joke or a ploy for ratings, but already she scores point for reinventing herself with what seemed like a hill spiraling downward. The hashtag “We Support Kim K” trended worldwide today .Not bad for the reality tv show star who claims this pic is an example of a Bad Bed Head Day??? To get this look simply wash roller set and let curs loose with just a touch of mousse.

If you don’t use it, you’ll lose it. What am I talking about, lean muscle. Janet jackson may go through weight loss ups and downs, but one thing she has always managed to maintain are well toned arms. For this issue of Literary Divas weekly magazine it’s all about getting sexy well toned arms with lean muscle like Janet Jackson without getting too bulky. At one time, Janet appeared to be way too muscular, but this is part of the process of getting  toned arms and often temporary. No need to fear that weight lifting is going to bulk you up so much you lose your feminine appeal ladies. What you are aiming for are more repetitions with lighter weights to get cuts like Janet Jackson and over all pilate moves for tone. If you could use a little more muscle op for slightly increased weights and less reps, but careful, arms can bulk up pretty fast on a woman with heavy weights.

The worse end of  developing bulky muscles is when you put on weight. This tends to create a layer of fat that looks matronly on a young woman. The best end of developing muscles is that if you stop working out your muscles have memory and usually snap back,but wait to long and you could develop irreversible damage and arm distortion from wide quarterback arms to lose sagging skin under arm pits and excess fat that is hard to shed and makes you look older. Consistent and daily arm toning is beneficial here.

Five simple exercises to try are good old fashioned barbell lifts. Try 10-15 pound weights. Hold one dumbbell in each hand and do alternate dumbbell  lifts to 3 songs or exhaustion non stop. Be sure to squeeze as you go. The tensity will rev up muscle growth.

A second exercise that is always fun to do are push ups which inadvertently stress the biceps  and develop other muscles like triceps which are necessary to compliment the over all tone of entire arm. A third winner is the lateral pull down exercise which streamlines your forearms and helps create sexy and lean arm and back muscles. A fourth exercise highly recommended are overhead dumbbell flyes which get rid of those goose arms. You just hold one dumbbell in your hand and extend behind your head. If you have difficulty use your other hand to grasp your elbow to perform this exercise with maximum efficiency.

The final exercise most suggested for over all chiseled arms is running daily. There is something about melting fat off your body that helps expose beautiful muscles that were already there. Melting away all traces of fats results in exposure of muscles only. Janet Jackson also uses the Nutra System which has managed to help her keep extra pounds off , but we have to give Janet credit where credit is due. When the singer puts her mind to it she trains hard. If you want it you have to work for it and just do it. From all artists Janet Jackson’s exercise results has been the most phenomenal time after time.
